HOW WE HELP

A little guidance goes a long way.

Your first return

Start with what you have: your tuition form, any income slips, and a few details about your year. We explain the steps, prepare your return, and walk you through the result before you approve it.

Tuition and unused amounts

Eligible tuition may reduce the tax you owe. We review your T2202 and any unused tuition amounts on your previous assessment, including whether a transfer or carry-forward applies.

Work alongside your studies

Part-time jobs, co-op placements, scholarships, and freelance work can produce different kinds of records. Tell us about each source of income so we can work out what belongs on your return.

Studying in Canada from abroad?

Your tax residency matters, even if you have a study permit. Let us know when you arrived and about your ties to Canada and your home country.

PLAN YOUR NEXT STEP

A helpful guide to pricing.

Our simple-return category includes students with a T2202. Employment, freelance income, or other circumstances can change the work involved. We’ll confirm the rate that fits your full return.

All rates in CAD. Taxes and e-filing fees are additional. Categories are a guide; please don’t add them together to estimate your total.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few questions you might have.

Every situation has its own details. We’re here to help you work through yours.

Ask us a question
Is filing useful if I earned very little?

It can be. Filing lets CRA record eligible unused tuition amounts and may help establish eligibility for benefits and credits. We can review whether you need to file and what information is relevant.

Can my parent claim my tuition instead?

A transfer of eligible current-year tuition may be possible, subject to limits and your own tax calculation. Bring your tuition form and let us know who would receive the transfer. Unused amounts carried forward from earlier years cannot be transferred.

I have never filed. Do I need a previous assessment?

No. If this is your first return, simply tell us. Bring your identification, tuition documents, and income records, and we’ll explain the remaining information needed.

Can I do this while I’m away at school?

Yes. We offer phone appointments and can arrange secure document sharing, so you can work with our Vancouver team remotely.
