HOW WE HELP

Careful attention to this chapter.

Bring your retirement income together

We review your pension, CPP, OAS, RRIF, and investment records, along with any employment or rental income. Let us know if this is your first year of retirement or if your income has changed.

Review pension splitting where eligible

Some pension income may qualify for splitting with a spouse or common-law partner. We review the relevant slips and both partners’ circumstances before determining whether it applies.

Make sense of your receipts

Medical costs, insurance reimbursements, and charitable donations can leave you with a stack of paperwork. Bring the supporting records so we can review eligible claims and explain what is included.

Helping a parent with their return?

You are welcome to help gather the paperwork. Contact us before the appointment so we can explain the consent or authorization needed to discuss their tax information.

PLAN YOUR NEXT STEP

A helpful guide to pricing.

The simple-return category includes OAS and CPP. Other pensions, investments, medical claims, or pension splitting may fit a different category. We’ll review your documents and confirm the total.

All rates in CAD. Taxes and e-filing fees are additional. Categories are a guide; please don’t add them together to estimate your total.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few questions you might have.

Every situation has its own details. We’re here to help you work through yours.

Ask us a question
Can CPP or OAS be split on my tax return?

CPP and OAS are not eligible for CRA pension income splitting. Certain other pension income may qualify. CPP pension sharing is a separate Service Canada program with its own requirements.

Should my spouse and I bring our records together?

That can be helpful, especially when reviewing pension splitting or claims affected by family information. Bring both sets of slips and assessments so we can understand the full picture.

Which medical receipts should I gather?

Bring receipts showing the patient, provider, date, and amount, plus any insurance reimbursement details. We’ll review the records to determine which expenses can be considered for your return.

Can I speak with someone instead of doing everything online?

Yes. You can meet with us at our downtown Vancouver office or arrange a phone appointment. Call us if you would like help getting started.
